LOS ALTOS, Santa Clara County — October 25, 2026. Los Altos has three upcoming civic meetings over two evenings. Its official October municipal calendar lists a City Council regular meeting Tuesday, October 27, at 7 p.m., followed by Complete Streets Commission and Historical Commission meetings on Wednesday, October 28, at 6 p.m. Those two commission sessions overlap, so residents should check agendas and participation arrangements if they want to follow both.

Why Complete Streets matters

Complete Streets discussions can involve how local streets serve pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and people using mobility devices. However, the calendar listing alone does not establish that any particular crosswalk, bicycle route or street redesign will be considered October 28. The current meeting-specific agenda and staff packet should be used to verify topics, proposals and public-comment opportunities. A commission recommendation is not evidence that the Council approved construction.

Historical preservation has a separate forum

The Historical Commission is a distinct city body whose public materials may relate to locally significant buildings, places or preservation procedures. Residents with questions about a particular property should identify the actual case number and public notice before drawing conclusions about proposed protections or restrictions. An agenda item does not prove a property is now designated or subject to a new requirement.

Check the October 27 Council agenda

Los Altos’ municipal calendar also lists earlier October meetings of its Financial Commission, Planning Commission and Parks, Arts, Recreation and Cultural Commission. An Environmental Commission meeting October 14 was canceled, reminding readers that recurring calendars can include changed or canceled meetings. Council’s October 27 listing is a scheduled event, not a report of decisions already taken.

The City Council’s regular meeting notice gives a 7 p.m. start, but does not guarantee an 8 p.m. adjournment despite the calendar display. Residents should use the city website to find the actual agenda, location, remote-access details and any current revisions. Los Altos News will focus on decisions supported by original municipal records.
